Call for Project Funding Proposals

We are excited to announce the commencement of the Quantum Matter Research Project Funding initiative. As part of our commitment to fostering innovation and advancing the frontiers of quantum science, we invite motivated and passionate doctoral candidates to submit proposals for small-scale research projects.

Objective: The primary goal of this funding opportunity is to support innovative research ideas in the field of quantum matter and help docotorates get experience in formulating and realizing your first independent research projects. We are seeking projects that facilitate unconventional ideas, push the boundaries of knowledge, explore new approaches, and contribute to the advancement of quantum science.

Eligibility: All current members at KSQM are eligible to apply. Interdisciplinary collaborations are also encouraged, and proposals that demonstrate a clear connection transfer and applications will be given special consideration.

Funding Details:

  • Each selected project will receive up to 3000€ in research funding.
  • The funding period is 2024-2025, allowing for in-depth exploration and development of the proposed ideas.
  • Projects should align with the broader goals of quantum physics research.

Proposal Guidelines: Interested candidates should submit a detailed proposal that includes the following (ca. 2 pages long):

  • Title of the Project
  • Objectives and Research Questions
  • Methodology and Approach
  • Expected Outcomes and Impact
  • Timeline for Project Execution
  • Budget and Justification

Submission Deadline: All project proposals can be submitted either before June 30th or December 31st. The applications will be evaluated by the Steering Committee right after the deadlines.

Review Process: KSQM Steering Committee will evaluate the proposals based on scientific level, feasibility, and potential impact and select successful applicants.

How to Apply: Please submit your proposals in PDF format to ksqm∂kit.edu with the subject line "KSQM Research Project Funding Proposal – [Your Name]." Ensure that your proposal adheres to the provided guidelines.

We look forward to supporting research within KSQM. If you have any questions or require further information, please contact Yu Goldscheider at yu.goldscheider∂kit.edu.
